Kite equipment

The school proposes suitable equipment:
- 2010 bow or elliptic kites from 5 to 20 m², with 4 or 5 lines
- boards for any level, twin-tips ou directional boards.

We keep boards and kites in top condition with original materials.

Individual protection gear:
The equipment includes harness, wetsuit, life vest and helmet. The pupils may bring their wetsuit if they have one (if not they can rent one).

The equipment does not include boots. You can buy them at our shop for 22 €.

Open-water security

Security by boat

We have a 6 meter long boat based in Port Leucate to escort you in the open-sea.

Introduction and beginner's lessons take place in waist deep water.

1 instructor looks after a maximum of 4 pupils.

Depending on the pupil's level and meteo conditions, the courses may take place wether in waist deep water or in the open sea with boat (6 m long - 115 cv) escort.

The pupils communicate by radio system with the instructor.

We also offer private lessons at customer's request for a personalized progress.
At the end of the courses we issue a Kite Pass card, detailing all achieved steps.

For your personal comfort, we advise to bring sunglasses, solar cream, a towel, snacks and drinks...

Mountainboard in La Franqui

Instructors are sole judges and authorities to conduct or not their lessons for the safety of the customers. They decide whether the meteorological conditions are suitable for the course.

In case of weak wind, a mountainboard session may be proposed to the pupil.

If there is no minimum wind, we reschedule the lesson, acoording to the pupil and the school availabilities.

Our boat is equipped with a simulator. The pupil learns how to deal with the board without piloting the kite. It helps the learning process.

Inscription conditions

• Supply a medical certificate proving you are in good physical condition and suffer from no medical conditions that may prevent you from kiting if you are more than 59 years old.

• Supply a parental consent for young from 12 to 18 years old

• Be able to swim at least 25 meters for young under 16, to dive and swim at least 50 meters over 16.

• Prove you have a civil liability insurance or subscribe one.

• Recommandation : be covered by an individual insurance.
